Curfew as soldiers battle Boko Haram in Maiduguri

The military authorities have imposed an indefinite curfew in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital, following Boko Haram attack on the city.
 
The Defence Headquarters said in a tweet on its twitter handle on Sunday that the curfew was imposed to enable troops pursue fleeing Boko Haram fighters who attacked the town.
 
“Curfew is imposed on Maiduguri with immediate effect till further notice as pursuit of retreating terrorists begins.” The tweet read.

President Jonathan was a guest at Winners Chapel in Ota Ogun state today and according to people who were there, they claim Pastor Oyedepo said he will 'open the gate of hell on those who oppose the President. 

Measles Outbreak in United State Spreads

The measles outbreak in California is growing.
The number of cases has increased to 68, with 48 of those cases linked to an outbreak at Disneyland, state health officials reported Friday.
Two days ago, the health department reported 59 cases, 42 with a Disney connection.

Jonathan’s PhD certificate is authentic — UNIPORT

Due to speculations in some quarters that President Goodluck Jonathan did not complete his doctorate degree programme at the University of Port Harcourt, the institution has come out in his defence.
But the Uniport Deputy Registrar (Information), Dr. William Wodi, explained that apart from acquiring his first degree in the institution, Jonathan also got his Masters and Ph.D in the same institution.

Army and Police Tighten Security Around Jonathan in Borno During Campaign.




Security agencies, including Police, the Department of State Services and the Army, have restructured the security plan in the presidential convoy to forestall further attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan’s entourage in his ongoing presidential campaigns.
On Saturday, policemen and soldiers prevented a huge crowd from coming close to the president.
The few people that came close to the president were diligently frisked.

President Jonathan Visits Borno Today For Presidential Campaign.



President Goodluck Jonathan will visit the Borno again today to campaign for next month’s election after  Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, less than two weeks after.

Group of ladies protested topless on Rio de Janeiro’s Ipanema beach to demand the right to go topless on Brazilian beaches, which is against the law in Brazil.
It is currently deemed an obscene act punishable by between three months and a year in prison.
The protest, in which seven women publicly exposed their breasts for several minutes, attracted a good number of curious passersby and journalists to the iconic Rio beach. See more pix after the cut. Don't miss it...
