PDP Set To Rig Election – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the decision of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to oppose the use of Card Reader in this month’s rescheduled elections as a vindication of its claim that the ruling party was desperate to rig the election or prevent it from holding.
“At the press conference we addressed on Wednesday, which rattled the PDP and the Jonathan Administration so much, we listed the conditionalities of the PDP/Jonathan Administration for holding the election: No PVCs, No Card Readers, No Jega and the fact that they want the military deployed to harass and intimidate voters,” a statement by the party, issued in Lagos yesterday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said.

The Internet exploded today when both Kim Kardashian and Jared Leto both stepped out at the Balmain Fashion Show in Paris, France sporting new platinum blonde hair.

We knew the 43-year-old Oscar winning actor had cut his hair earlier in the week for Suicide Squad, but no one knew about his platinum look.

Kim‘s hair was also a surprise. She stepped out earlier in the day with a hat over her head to try and hide her new hair.

Chibok Girls Are Alive And We Will Bring Them Back – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan today assured parents of abducted school girls that were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State and all Nigerians that the girls are still alive, adding that his government was doing everything within its power to get them back alive. President Jonathan disclosed this when he appeared on Kaakaki, a live Discussion programme on African Independent Television, AIT, hinging his optimism on the fact that if the girls have been killed, the insurgents would have displayed their corpses so as to induce fear.

Why We Suggested Shift In Dates Of Elections – Military

The military, yesterday, explained why it suggested that the election dates be shifted, clarifying that its advice had no political undertone.
According to the military, the reason for its suggestion for a shift was to enable it take delivery of the long awaited weapons with which to tackle terrorists in the North eastern part of the country.
“I do not want to bring politics into it, whoever wants to bring politics into what we are doing, it’s left for him. I want whoever is saying that to know that war machines are not picked up from the shelf, if it were, we would have got them,” Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh said while receiving drugs and other items worth over N70 million donated by the Association of Pharmaceutical Importers of Nigeria (APIN), to assist the Nigerian Armed Forces in the war against Boko Haram insurgency.

Son Of Former CJN Reportedly Joins ISIS

Former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Uwais has declined to comment on the report by a US-based online news platform, THEWILL, that his son had joined the terrorist group, Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Speaking with Vanguard over the phone on Wednesday, Uwais, neither confirmed nor denied the report.
“I don’t want to comment on hearsay,” the former CJN told Vanguard.

INEC to postpone election  – There are reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may have to reprint ballot papers for the forthcoming elections to accommodate a political party which was not listed among duly registered parties by the commission, National Mirror reports.

He tweeted that his own father died on the 22nd of July, 1996. And that his mother, who is 82yrs old, is alive and well in Lagos.

Fuel scarcity gets worse nationwide



ABUJA—As fuel scarcity bites harder nationwide, fresh facts emerged, yesterday, indicating that a combination of policies from Nigeria’s Central Bank and the high level of indebtedness of product marketers to some banks led to the low supply of Premium Motor Spirit PMS (petrol).

Because of the high level of indebtedness of marketers to banks, most of the banks have refused to issue Letters of Credit to them. A competent source at the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, disclosed that “the National Consumption level is predicated at 40 million litres daily and this is shared at ratio 50:50 between NNPC and other petroleum products marketers.
