President Goodluck Jonathan will visit the Borno again today to campaign for next month’s election after Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, less than two weeks after.
It would be recalled Jonathan’s visit to Maiduguri on January 15, 2015, was to show support for Nigerian soldiers serving in the state in commemoration with the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The President had been criticised in recent times for not visiting the Boko Haram insurgency-ridden state.
According to Punch newspaper report online, the President would use the opportunity of the visit to unfold plans to tackle the Boko Haram militant sect.
Meanwhile, the governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima , on Friday appealed to his supporters and all citizens of the state not to show any form of disrespect to the President and his entourage during the campaign visit.
