Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has had a surgery on a hip problem in the United States.
Coach Brendan Rodgers had said the England international was not likely to feature for the club for the rest of the season and, after undergoing surgery in New York on Tuesday; Sturridge will now begin a rehabilitation programme as he begins another journey on the now too familiar road to recovery.
The former Chelsea and Manchester City striker has traveled to the States twice this season in an attempt to find a lasting solution to the injury crises which has rocked his campaign, with only 18 club appearances under his belt and just 5 goals to his credit.
“Just want to let the world know I’ve had a successful operation on my hip today and I want to thank God for allowing that to be possible,” Sturridge wrote on Instagram. “Onwards and upwards from here. Thanks for the support.”
