A motorcycle rider and his passenger were killed this morning by Anthony bus stop on Ikorodu road when a vehicle knocked them down on the highway. According to an eyewitness who shared the photos, the rider and the passenger died on the spot. It will be recalled that the Lagos State Government has warned okada riders to desist from plying highways. May their souls rest in peace. See their bodies after the cut.

South Africa to deploy soldiers to the streets to quell Xenophobic violence
South African government says it will be deploying soldiers to the streets to curtail the xenophobic attacks in the country. South African Defence Minister, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, said the soldiers will be deployed to Alexandra township, north of the main city Johannesburg. She said the Troops will not take over the responsibilities of the police but would assist in maintaining order.
