Boko Haram Strikes Again, Kills 10, Abducts 2

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked motorists in Madari village, Kukawa LGA, Borno State, killing 10 and abducting 2.The kidnapped were a young woman together with her 2-year-old child, Vanguard reports.

Mallam Abor Modu, a driver, narrated how he barely escaped death as he was returning from  Cross Kauwa December 15. According to him, the terrorists came across the gunmen, who were in 10 vehicles.
“I had to stop with five of my passengers when I saw a Chadian resembling a Boko Haram terrorist in a Toyota Hilux vehicle mounted with a Multi Purpose Machine gun…
“One of the terrorists approached me and asked where I was coming from. I told him that I was coming form Cross Kauwa and he asked me again where I hail from. I told him that I come from Yusufari and he further asked me where my passengers came from and I told him they were going to Bindari.”
The gunman left to come back some time later to ask what the driver was doing, to which the man responded that he was “supplicating”. The suspected insurgent left again.
Mallam Abor continued: “While I was still supplicating, I saw them killing a driver of a Peugeot Station Wagon vehicle and five of his passengers. They later abducted a young woman and her two-year old child. When a Mercedes Benz driver came with speed, they opened fire on them killing all the occupants of the vehicle.
“When the driver of a Hummer bus came with his passengers, he was lucky to have escaped, as they were opening fire on him as he succeeded in making a U- turn but some of his passengers alighted from the bus and ran into the bush.”
All the attempts to contact Borno State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Gideon Jibrin, for confirmation, yielded unsuccessful.
Meanwhile the military have recently arrested some Boko Haram insurgents in Maiduguri, Punch reports.
A vigilante, Abba Kolo, disclosed yesterday that the suspects tried to act as the displaced persons from Bama, attacked some months ago. However they were spotted and detained.
Kolo said:
“The arrested Boko Haram insurgents, who fled Bama along with IDPs and had formed a syndicate along the Bama Road at Yanshayi opposite Tashan Bama in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, were rounded up by soldiers.”
Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, added oil to the fire, having released a new video on December 13, 2014, Saturday. Nigeria’s number 1 terrorist threatened to kill ‘fake’ Muslims and to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
